Our Services

Advice
We offer advice on a wide range of subjects including welfare benefits, debt, employment, consumer, family problems, housing, etc. Our advice system is provided by our national association. Our advice system is on-line so is constantly up to date.

Assistance
We can assist in the completion of forms, in writing letters, and in negotiating on behalf of clients.

Home Visits
We offer home visits to those clients who are unable to access our offices, due to infirmity, disability or caring responsibilities. Much of our outreach work is made possible by a Lottery Grant which expires in March 2008.

Primary Care Trust “ Choosing Health”

The bureau has received funding from the PCT for 3 years, from April 2008, to provide welfare benefit advice to elderly, disabled & vulnerable clients. Under this project, referrals will be made by GPs, Health Visitors and other health professionals.

Telephone Advice

We are part of the Lincolnshire Telephone Advice Service, which is a countywide service covered by three or four bureaux each weekday between 10am and 4pm. There is recorded information outside these hours or when all our lines are busy.

Housing Advice

Shelter, Lincolnshire, provides a surgery for advice on housing problems in our Spalding office on alternate Wednesday mornings, by appointment.

Project funded by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) via the East Midland Money Advice (EMMA) Partnership

The bureau was awarded funding initially for two years, until March 2008, to provide face-to-face debt advice. This provides a caseworker plus clerical support. This has now been extended for a further two years until March 2010.
