Our Volunteers
The Citizen’s Advice Bureau of Spalding has volunteers who have dedicated years to the bureau, as well as new staff.
Volunteering for your local CAB will bring many personal rewards. Many volunteers begin by expressing their desire to give back something to the community, but end up being thankful for the benefits they receive from the work. This is what a few of our members had to say;
“If you look back and think how the Citizens Advice Bureau first began and why they began. The main reason for them starting up was to help people during the commencement of the war to fill in forms to apply for ration books. We have come a long way since then, but the need is just as great”

“I have just started advising and know my knowledge is miniscule compared to the more experienced members of the team who have been at the bureau for years. The patience and kindness shown to me by the other advisers makes me want to tell all new trainees coming along what a team you will belong to. They give of their time and show you and help you when your mind goes blank! Remember the people coming in to the bureau often feel overwhelmed and alone - you won't be. Help is there for you at every turn. You won't be alone, Remember that when it is your turn to advise all the help and information you will need from the files and other advisers is there for you. The feeling you get when you relieve someone of a worry or a burden and they go home smiling and relieved, thanking you for your time, makes it so worthwhile.”
